Chroniques et points de vue:From :Just when this lcelandic crew seemed stuck in loud/soft/loud/ soft rut a la Mogwai or Godspeed You Black Emperor, they release their most beguiling, subtle and beautiful album yet. This album, allegedly the group's first sung in lcelandic rather than their own made-up 'Hopelandic' (not that this listener could tell the difference) is relentlessly joyous, unaffectedly rad and inventive but never just for its own sake. Strings hold an ever more prominent place in the music, and this is a good thing. Songs unfold slowly as usual, but they take unexpected turns as often as not. The brilliant 'Glósóli' burbles with as much melodic invention and anything by their fellow lcelanders Mum.
Takk is a delight from start to finish, managing to be both their most accessible and experimental album yet.

4.5 Stars - For the Most Part, Excellent
Often hauntingly beautiful yet remaining very human, this music mostly defies description... a trascendence of sorts. This is the best of Sigur Ros' discs, mostly because the songs fit so well together...
If at first this music does not do it for you, please have patience; I did, and it is still paying off. (But still there are times when I find it hard to appreciate it as much...just like most music.)
Best,
B. Keith

Lush & blissful perfection...
I think 'Kathy' from Dublin Ireland said it best.. simply breathtaking!
As for AdamClark52, give them last 2 songs another chance. With some time and some listening, you'll come around. I'm sure of it! It's the type of stuff that grows on you with subsequent listening. It's happened to me countless times with various underground classics.. I believe it's a good wind-down to a great album.
Seeing this in concert just reinforced my fascination with this ensemble. It was a fantastic sold-out show in T.O. I implore all fans to see them live. You not only see the band but the 'strings' behind the band, which is a band in itself (Amiina). Trust me, you will not regret it!

* emotions in music ...
The first time I listened to this I almost cried.
It is an ambush of energy that has been transformed by Sigur Ros into one of the greatest experiences that has ever entered my mind. Unparalleled, this album, this band, this music is the gateway to the complete and open mind.

AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, AMAZINGLY INCREDIBLE
Sigur Ros is one of the greatest bands on the planet, and if you doubt me check this record out. If you have not liked any of their other stuff than this will not win you over. But if you are new to Sigur Ros I cannot give them enough praise, every time they release a new album they reinvigorate the music industry. They have their own sound which cannot be really described but I'll take a stab, operatic-rock of the grandest scale. I just got Takk today and cannot stop listening to the whole thing all the way through, my neighbors probably know all the songs by now, and so should you. This is timeless material here.

* Great CD. Horrible Ending ...
This is just as good as any of Sigur Ros' previous works up until the last two songs. Those two (the last especially) really dissapointed me. Had this album ended after the ninth song than it may have been the best of the year, but with the bad ending it's just one of the better. Fans of this should also check out Red Sparowes and thier album "At the Soundless Dawn".
